Why running bamboo is a problem in Banbury
On Banbury properties, running bamboo running rhizome crosses boundaries, lifts patios and can enter cavity walls and drains — increasingly the subject of neighbour disputes. The Oxford Canal and River Cherwell run through Banbury, both notorious corridors for knotweed spread, while former cattle market and railway land near the town centre continues to harbour persistent stands of the invasive plant.
