Hedge & Boundary Vegetation

    Hedge Cutting & Overgrowth Clearance

From an annual trim to reclaiming a boundary that has not been touched in a decade — cut to a proper profile, arisings taken away, and nesting checks made before the blades come out.

    Routine Trimming

One, two or three cuts a year to keep a formal hedge tight and square.

    Height Reduction

Heavy reduction of leylandii, laurel and privet, staged where the species needs it.

    Removal & Stump Work

Full hedge removal, root grubbing and grinding for new fencing or access.

    Highway & Sightlines

Clearing vegetation obstructing footpaths, signage and junction visibility splays.

    Nesting Bird Checks

Pre-works inspections so you stay the right side of the Wildlife & Countryside Act.

    Annual Contracts

Scheduled cuts for estates, schools and managing agents with photo reporting.

    How the works run

    1. 1Measure & assessLength, height, species and access checked, plus any invasive growth in the hedge base.
    2. 2Nesting checkBetween March and August we inspect for active nests and reschedule if we find one.
    3. 3CutCut to an agreed profile, with a slightly battered face so light reaches the base.
    4. 4ClearArisings chipped and removed under waste transfer documentation.
    5. 5ReportPhotos and a recommendation for the next cut interval.

What is hiding in an overgrown boundary

Long-neglected hedge lines are where we most often find Japanese knotweed, bamboo running from next door and mature ivy pulling walls apart. Because we survey for invasive species before cutting, you get told what is really there rather than having it chopped, chipped and spread across the site.

    Costs and timing

A standard domestic hedge trim usually falls between £120 and £350 depending on length, height and disposal. Heavy reductions and full removals are quoted after a visit. The safest window for major cutting is September to February, outside the main bird nesting season.
