Why giant hogweed is a problem in Treharris
On Treharris properties, giant hogweed sap causes severe phototoxic burns and long-term light sensitivity, which makes it a genuine safety issue on footpaths, riverbanks and school boundaries. Treharris lies near the Taff Bargoed valley, where former Deep Navigation colliery land and river banks hold invasive species.
