Why horsetail is a problem in Nuneaton
On Nuneaton properties, horsetail roots reach two metres down, shrug off most garden weedkillers and push up through lawns, borders and block paving year after year. Nuneaton's former coal mining and quarrying sites have left substantial derelict land where knotweed has readily colonised, with further spread along the Coventry Canal and the River Anker which flow through the town.
