Why water primrose is a problem in Conwy
On Conwy properties, water primrose forms floating mats over ponds, lakes and slow drains, deoxygenating water and blocking flows. Around Conwy Castle and the town walls, Conwy's mix of gardens, riverbanks, railway corridors and development plots gives invasive and persistent weeds plenty of disturbed ground to colonise, and infestations regularly cross property boundaries across North Wales.
