Why single-site pricing rarely suits a portfolio
Landlords and multi-site operators are frequently locked into a patchwork of legacy contracts inherited from different tenants or acquisitions, each priced separately with different container sizes, collection days and gate fees. Consolidating onto a single framework gives you one invoice, one escalation route when a bin is missed, and genuine leverage to negotiate rates based on total portfolio tonnage rather than each site negotiating alone. It also gives compliance and sustainability teams a single source of truth for reporting.
Segregation duties that apply from 2025
The Simpler Recycling reforms under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, in force for most businesses from 31 March 2025, require workplaces in England to separate dry recyclable materials, food waste and residual waste rather than mixing them into a single general waste stream, with limited exemptions for small businesses on food waste. Contracts that were compliant under the previous regime need reviewing, and we build container provision and collection frequency around these duties from the outset rather than retrofitting them later.
