When a free photo survey is enough, and when it isn't
A free online photo survey is genuinely useful for a first opinion — is this actually Japanese knotweed, or is it a lookalike such as bindweed or dogwood — and for low-stakes situations where no lender, buyer or solicitor needs a formal document. It is not sufficient where a mortgage application, house sale or boundary dispute requires a report with measured extent, proximity to structures and a documented management plan, because photographs alone cannot establish those details reliably.
