Why running bamboo is a problem in Merthyr Tydfil
On Merthyr Tydfil properties, running bamboo running rhizome crosses boundaries, lifts patios and can enter cavity walls and drains — increasingly the subject of neighbour disputes. Merthyr Tydfil's ironworking heritage left vast disturbed spoil tips and slag heaps across the valley, and these, together with the River Taff's banks, remain a stronghold for Japanese knotweed.
