Why ground elder is a problem in Frome
On Frome properties, ground elder brittle white rhizome regrows from every fragment, so digging alone usually spreads it further through borders and hedge lines. Frome's steep-sided River Frome valley once powered its woollen mills, and the disturbed mill leats and old industrial terraces around Trinity have left knotweed firmly established through the town.
