Why horsetail is a problem in Arnold
On Arnold properties, horsetail roots reach two metres down, shrug off most garden weedkillers and push up through lawns, borders and block paving year after year. Arnold's former hosiery mills and quarry sites near the Day Brook created disturbed ground where Japanese knotweed has spread along old railway paths and green corridors linking to Sherwood and Gedling.
