Why horsetail is a problem in Weston-super-Mare
On Weston-super-Mare properties, horsetail roots reach two metres down, shrug off most garden weedkillers and push up through lawns, borders and block paving year after year. Weston-super-Mare's seafront and old railway cuttings, along with disturbed dune and reclaimed marshland behind the sea wall, have allowed knotweed to spread through the town's Victorian-era infrastructure.
