Why horsetail is a problem in Pontypool
On Pontypool properties, horsetail roots reach two metres down, shrug off most garden weedkillers and push up through lawns, borders and block paving year after year. Pontypool sits on the Afon Lwyd, where former ironworks and colliery land along the eastern valley gave knotweed well-established colonies that recur along the old mineral railway to Blaenavon.
