Why water primrose is a problem in Godalming
On Godalming properties, water primrose forms floating mats over ponds, lakes and slow drains, deoxygenating water and blocking flows. Around the pepperpot and the River Wey, Godalming's mix of gardens, riverbanks, railway corridors and development plots gives invasive and persistent weeds plenty of disturbed ground to colonise, and infestations regularly cross property boundaries across Surrey.
