Why running bamboo is a problem in Ebbw Vale
On Ebbw Vale properties, running bamboo running rhizome crosses boundaries, lifts patios and can enter cavity walls and drains — increasingly the subject of neighbour disputes. Ebbw Vale's former steelworks left extensive disturbed spoil land throughout the valley, and the River Ebbw's disturbed banks continue to give Japanese knotweed a strong foothold across the town.
