Why field horsetail is a problem in Newcastle Emlyn
On Newcastle Emlyn properties, field horsetail deep rhizome network infests lawns, borders and paving, and it is toxic to horses on grazing land. Around the castle ruins and the River Teifi, Newcastle Emlyn's mix of gardens, riverbanks, railway corridors and development plots gives invasive and persistent weeds plenty of disturbed ground to colonise, and infestations regularly cross property boundaries across South Wales.
