Why ground ivy is a problem in Aberystwyth
On Aberystwyth properties, ground ivy creeping stems root at every node, forming mats through lawns and shady borders that mowing cannot shift. Around the promenade and Constitution Hill, Aberystwyth's mix of gardens, riverbanks, railway corridors and development plots gives invasive and persistent weeds plenty of disturbed ground to colonise, and infestations regularly cross property boundaries across South Wales.
