Why horsetail is a problem in Llantrisant
On Llantrisant properties, horsetail roots reach two metres down, shrug off most garden weedkillers and push up through lawns, borders and block paving year after year. Llantrisant's hilltop castle and the surrounding former colliery and common land, plus the Ely valley's disturbed banks, give knotweed recurring stands on the town's rural edges.
