Why stinging nettles is a problem in Cheltenham
On Cheltenham properties, stinging nettles colonise nutrient-rich and disturbed ground, making verges, play areas and yard margins unusable within a season. Cheltenham's Regency-era development left disturbed ground along the River Chelt and old spa gardens, while the former railway lines into Cheltenham Spa station provide corridors along which knotweed continues to spread.
