Removing asbestos-containing materials is only half the job. Every load has to be double-bagged, labelled, transported by a licensed carrier and consigned to an authorised disposal site with a hazardous waste consignment note that proves the chain of custody from your site to final disposal.
Licensable Removal
Removal of higher-risk ACMs such as sprayed coatings, lagging and insulation board by licensed contractors.
Non-Licensed Removal
Removal of lower-risk materials like textured coatings and cement products under notifiable non-licensed work (NNLW) procedures.
Consigned Disposal
Transport and disposal to a permitted hazardous waste site with full consignment note documentation.
Double-Bagging & Labelling
Waste is double-bagged, sealed and labelled to the asbestos waste labelling requirements before it leaves site.
Air Monitoring & Clearance
Independent air testing and clearance certification where the work requires it before areas are reoccupied.

Why the consignment note matters
Asbestos waste is classified as hazardous waste under the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005. Every movement from your site must be tracked on a consignment note recording the waste description, quantity, European Waste Catalogue (EWC) code and the identities of the producer, carrier and disposal site. You are legally required to keep copies for at least three years, and the Environment Agency can ask to see them. We provide the full paper trail as standard, not as an extra.
Asbestos found during weed control ground works
Knotweed rhizome and other invasive root systems are sometimes excavated from land that also contains buried asbestos sheeting or cement fragments from historic demolition. If our teams uncover suspect material while digging out rhizome or preparing a root barrier trench, we stop work, arrange sampling through our consultancy service and, where confirmed, remove and consign the asbestos before the weed control programme continues — so one job doesn't create a second, unlicensed problem.
