Why stinging nettles is a problem in Abergavenny
On Abergavenny properties, stinging nettles colonise nutrient-rich and disturbed ground, making verges, play areas and yard margins unusable within a season. Abergavenny's position at the Usk gap, with former railway and canal land around the town, gives knotweed disturbed corridors along the riverbank and onto the lower slopes of the Sugar Loaf.
