Why rosebay willowherb is a problem in Lydney
On Lydney properties, rosebay willowherb wind-blown seed colonises cleared ground, car park margins and railway land almost immediately after disturbance. Around the harbour and the Dean Forest Railway, Lydney's mix of gardens, riverbanks, railway corridors and development plots gives invasive and persistent weeds plenty of disturbed ground to colonise, and infestations regularly cross property boundaries across Gloucestershire.
