Why goosegrass (cleavers) is a problem in Kidwelly
On Kidwelly properties, goosegrass (cleavers) scrambles rapidly over hedges and borders, smothering new planting and seeding heavily within a single season. Around Kidwelly Castle and the Gwendraeth estuary, Kidwelly's mix of gardens, riverbanks, railway corridors and development plots gives invasive and persistent weeds plenty of disturbed ground to colonise, and infestations regularly cross property boundaries across South Wales.
