Why ground elder is a problem in Penzance
On Penzance properties, ground elder brittle white rhizome regrows from every fragment, so digging alone usually spreads it further through borders and hedge lines. Penzance's Victorian harbourside and former railway terminus sidings have disturbed the coastal ground where knotweed now spreads along the Penlee headland and into nearby subtropical garden estates.
