Why ground elder is a problem in Towcester
On Towcester properties, ground elder brittle white rhizome regrows from every fragment, so digging alone usually spreads it further through borders and hedge lines. Towcester sits on the River Tove, and old coaching-inn yards along the historic Watling Street through the town have left disturbed ground where knotweed has spread alongside the river's water meadows.
