Why stinging nettles is a problem in Stourbridge
On Stourbridge properties, stinging nettles colonise nutrient-rich and disturbed ground, making verges, play areas and yard margins unusable within a season. Stourbridge's glassmaking history left former canal wharves and disused kiln sites along the Stour Valley, where knotweed spreads through the Stourbridge Canal corridor and neighbouring nature reserves.
