Why ground elder is a problem in Stourbridge
On Stourbridge properties, ground elder brittle white rhizome regrows from every fragment, so digging alone usually spreads it further through borders and hedge lines. Stourbridge's glassmaking history left former canal wharves and disused kiln sites along the Stour Valley, where knotweed spreads through the Stourbridge Canal corridor and neighbouring nature reserves.
