Why creeping and spear thistle is a problem in Prestatyn
On Prestatyn properties, creeping and spear thistle creeping root spreads laterally through pasture and amenity grass, and wind-blown seed carries the problem onto neighbouring land. Prestatyn's coastal dunes and old railway embankments at the foot of the Clwydian hills left disturbed sandy ground where Japanese knotweed has spread through the Nant Bach stream valley and nearby drainage channels.
