Why horsetail is a problem in Prestatyn
On Prestatyn properties, horsetail roots reach two metres down, shrug off most garden weedkillers and push up through lawns, borders and block paving year after year. Prestatyn's coastal dunes and old railway embankments at the foot of the Clwydian hills left disturbed sandy ground where Japanese knotweed has spread through the Nant Bach stream valley and nearby drainage channels.
