Why goosegrass (cleavers) is a problem in Wrexham
On Wrexham properties, goosegrass (cleavers) scrambles rapidly over hedges and borders, smothering new planting and seeding heavily within a single season. Wrexham's former coal and steel industries along the River Clywedog left disturbed spoil ground where Japanese knotweed has spread through old railway lines and the Clywedog Valley heritage sites near the town.
