Why horsetail is a problem in Lichfield
On Lichfield properties, horsetail roots reach two metres down, shrug off most garden weedkillers and push up through lawns, borders and block paving year after year. Lichfield's Minster Pool and old canal wharves near the Wyrley and Essington Canal offer damp, disturbed banks where knotweed thrives, spreading along the Cathedral city's railway corridors and former gravel workings on its outskirts.
