Why New Zealand pigmyweed is a problem in Wrexham
On Wrexham properties, New Zealand pigmyweed tiny fragments regrow into dense mats on pond margins and damp ground, and it spreads on footwear, tyres and machinery. Wrexham's former coal and steel industries along the River Clywedog left disturbed spoil ground where Japanese knotweed has spread through old railway lines and the Clywedog Valley heritage sites near the town.
