Why stinging nettles is a problem in Cardiff
On Cardiff properties, stinging nettles colonise nutrient-rich and disturbed ground, making verges, play areas and yard margins unusable within a season. Cardiff's docklands legacy along the River Taff and Bute Park's disturbed floodplain, plus old railway sidings near Cardiff Central, have given knotweed extensive opportunities to spread throughout the city.
