Why creeping and spear thistle is a problem in Cardiff
On Cardiff properties, creeping and spear thistle creeping root spreads laterally through pasture and amenity grass, and wind-blown seed carries the problem onto neighbouring land. Cardiff's docklands legacy along the River Taff and Bute Park's disturbed floodplain, plus old railway sidings near Cardiff Central, have given knotweed extensive opportunities to spread throughout the city.
