Why creeping and spear thistle is a problem in Llanelli
On Llanelli properties, creeping and spear thistle creeping root spreads laterally through pasture and amenity grass, and wind-blown seed carries the problem onto neighbouring land. Llanelli's tinplate and copper-smelting past along the Loughor estuary left extensive brownfield land, and the Millennium Coastal Park works exposed fresh rhizome along reclaimed dock edges where knotweed now holds steady.
