Why horsetail is a problem in Llanelli
On Llanelli properties, horsetail roots reach two metres down, shrug off most garden weedkillers and push up through lawns, borders and block paving year after year. Llanelli's tinplate and copper-smelting past along the Loughor estuary left extensive brownfield land, and the Millennium Coastal Park works exposed fresh rhizome along reclaimed dock edges where knotweed now holds steady.
