Why horsetail is a problem in Coleford
On Coleford properties, horsetail roots reach two metres down, shrug off most garden weedkillers and push up through lawns, borders and block paving year after year. Coleford lies amid the Forest of Dean's former coal and iron workings, where disturbed spoil heaps and old tramway routes have given knotweed extensive opportunities to establish across the wooded valleys.
